some local authorities did not accept it.

UK data protection commissioner can issue up to £500.000 fine for privacy abuses

Privacy regulator the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) will have the power to fine organisations for serious data protection breaches from Tuesday, 6th April. Organisations could receive fines of up to £500,000 under the new powers.

Maybe a new trend in Europe as far as many EU data protection regulators are asking an increase of power?

LOPPSI une future loi française de régulation d'Internet

Le projet de loi d'orientation et de programmation pour la performance de la sécurité intérieure (ouf) dite loi LOPPSI veut mettre en place un certain nombre de blocage de site et de contrôle sur Internet.

Le journal du net a publié un dossier assez complet sur ce qui risque de changer.

Un des aspects importants est la transformation des fournisseurs d'accès en auxiliaire de justice et en les obligeant à bloquer l'accès à des sites illégaux, et donc aussi aux sites Peer to Peer craignent certains. Bref après la loi Hadopi, le contrôle de l'Internet semble une priorité du gouvernement français.
