On 28 January 2007 the Council of Europe held for the first time the European Data Protection Day and drew our attention to the utility of the data protection.
On that day the Belgian Privacy Commission has launched its online Public Register.

Our comment: So after years of exchanging data by post, the Belgian Privacy Commission put on line its public register of every declaration that were filed by the various data processors using personal data. Let's be positive! It's very easy and gives in a few clicks the information you are looking for. It will help the people who want to know if the companies or the public bodies they are giving their data filed the appropriate forms. The fact is that the companies ans public services who did it are not excactly the majority. Let's hope that the publicity made by this register will push those who "forget" it to do it.
